What is a CHG?
A CHG, or Community Host Group, a local team of volunteers that invites a larger organization—such as the non-profit Remote Area Medical (RAM)—to hold a free event, clinic, or program in their area.

CHG Meetings:
Our CHG meets montly on the second Thursday of each month at the Newport Library (3730 Market St, Youngstown) at 6:00pm***. All are welcome to attend.

***November 12th meeting will be a class at the Main Library, Non-profits:Finding Grants, one must be registered to attend this class.

Salud for Mahonig Valley is a designated 501(c)3 nonprofit.

Salud for Mahoning Valley’s purpose is:
● To improve the health and well being of the Mahoning Valley and its surrounding
area by providing or hosting free preventative screenings, healthcare, educational
workshops, seminars, and direct out-reach.
● To promote population health equity by expanding healthcare access, supporting
local health clinics, and advocating for underserved individuals.
● To cultivate thriving, resilient communities by providing equitable access to clean
environments, sustainable food systems, immediate medical needs, and
preventative health education.
● To empower communities by addressing the social determinants of health and
delivering accessible wellness programs.
● To promote animal welfare and provide public health benefits (such as preventing
zoonotic diseases and reducing pet suffering).
● To foster and facilitate opportunities for volunteerism in the above areas.
